Red Hematoid Quartz aka Fire Quartz Heart (250 g, 3.5" wide)
Stunning polished red hematoid quartz heart for your collection.
Also know as Fire Quartz, this material is quartz with hematite inclusions which provides the red colour.
When seen in person you can look into the stone as there are layers of translucency behind the red. There is also a bit of flash on the back (more white) side.
This heart is thick and puffy and feels very good to hold. It has been very highly polished and getting photos without reflections was tough.
It measures roughly 3.5" side to side and weighs 250 grams (8.8 oz).
To the best of my knowledge this has not been dyed, and I've included photos of a raw (but semi-polished) fire quartz slab so you can compare how it looks. This slab is not included in your purchase. This material is often heat-treated to bring out the deeper tones of red and because I was not there at the source, I cannot guarantee if it was or was not heated.
A small plastic stand will be included with your purchase but the heart sits nicely on its own as well.
