Nice larger plate of Blueberry Fluorite (542 grams, 4"x6")
Bubbly deep blue berries on this medium-large plate of Blueberry Fluorite specimen from the Huanggang Mine, Inner Mongolia, China. The smaller berries are translucent and bright blue (similar to the color of apatite) while the larger crystals are opaque even in bright light. The contrast between the deep color of the blue and the white quartz is quite pretty.
There is a scattering of light green in one area and my unsubstantiated belief is that the green is either newly formed blue- or this was cut from an area of the mine next to green fluorite.
This sits nicely on its matrix with no stand required (these specimens are cut from the wall of the mine which is why the matrix is so flat) but we are including a small plastic stand for display purposes. (We recommend you invest in a sturdier stand.)
Measures roughly 4”x6” and weighs 542 grams (1 lb 3 oz).
