Cleophane (or Cleoiphane) is a yellow-green variety of sphalerite. With needle quartz and galena.
This specimen comes from the Deveti Septemvri Mine (9th of September Mine), Madan ore field, Rhodope Mts, Smolyan Oblast, Bulgaria.
Most of the Cleophanes were mined from the 9th of September Mine in the 1990s into the 2000s, and were present on the market for only a short time. These Cleophanes are highly sought after by collectors for the vivid yellow-green colour.
Thie largest crystal measures 10mm x 10mm. It looks like there is a contact fracture in that crystal but it is stable.
Can be displayed a variety of ways, and a stand is not needed.
