rhombohedral Calcite on Aragonite, Cadman Quarry, Washington, USA

Large twinned, rhombohedral, calcite blade perched atop spiny and stalactitic aragonite, from the Cadman Quarry in Monroe, Washington, USA.

The large blade is the visual grab, but there are at least 9 additional calcite crystals tucked in the aragonite mass.

The calcite uv’s pinky-orange under my not-so-strong light and Ive read it should really pop under midwave.

Largest blade measures roughly 1.25” (4cm) across the middle. Overall specimen measures roughly 2.75” x 2” x 2” tall (6.5 cm x 5cm x 5cm).
