These water-clear selenite crystals , reminiscent of the highest grade Naica selenite, were found in 2009, while digging a family water-well in Bermejillo, Durango, Mexico, but did not enter the commercial market until 2024. Distribution was via one company, making these stunning pieces *the* grab of that year!
This single selenite on matrix is so glassy clear you can see the earthy matrix through the body of the crystal. Beautifully terminatated with visible striations along the edges.
Selenite, a variety of gypsum is very soft- only 2 on the Mohs scale.
Comes with a custom-milled clear acrylic base.
Crystal measurement is a tad under 3”.
Specimen measurement is 3.25” x 2.75” (8cm x 7cm). With the base it sits 3” tall.
