Cassiterite on Muscovite, Sichuan

Cassiterite (twinned crystals) on silvery muscovite from Mount Xuebaoding, Pingwu, Sichuan Province, China.

Extremely dark brown-black with a high luster. Slightly passes light at the very top of the smaller crystal.

Has some contact damage on the larger crystal but is cleanly terminated.

Measures approx 1.5” x 1.5” and site 1” tall. The larger crystal measures approx 16 mm across.

Will come with a small stand.
