A "Carthage corner" (or Elmwood corner) refers to the unique crystal habit of certain fluorites from the Elmwood Mine in Carthage, Smith Co., Tennessee, USA; a closed locale. These specimens are characterized by etched, stepped, or frosted cubic faces contrasted with smooth, glass-clear, gem-like corner growths.
This outstanding small cabinet fluorite has corners that are clear, raised, and gem-like compared to the rest of the surface which has an attractive stepped formation.
The soft, pleasing colours are clear to soft yellow with purple.
