These baryte and marcasite concretions were discovered in 2011, in a newly-opened pocket of the Lubin Mine, part of the KGHM copper mining district in Lower Silesia, Poland. Numerous specimens were collected; but for structural integrity, the cavernous pocket was filled, and the remaining find was buried.
The baryte has an interesting feathered pattern that extends into the marcasite rim. And it reacts bright white under UV light. The domed back is coated in rainbow iridescent marcasite and pyrite.
The face has been polished.
Measures roughly 3.5” x 2.75”. Will come with a small stand.
